  • What is the mission of the YWCA of South Hampton Roads?

YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

  • Is there a fee to participate in the event?

        Walk-a-Mile Team - $500.00
*Includes walk registration, food and drink vouchers, and event t- shirts for ten participants.

Individual Walk-a-Mile Ticket - $35.00
*Includes walk registration, food and drink voucher, and an event t- shirt for one participant.

Stroll in Your Slippers - $30.00
*Want to participate in this year's YWCA Walk-a-Mile in Her Shoes  Event, but can't make it to the actual event?  Sign up to Stroll in   Your Slippers!  Selecting this option entitles you to one event t-shirt  and access to our exclusive Participant Center to help you raise  money for the YWCA!

  • Do I need to bring my own heels, or will they be provided?

The YWCA makes every effort to ensure all that we can provide all of our walkers with heels, however, if you need a kitten heel or wedge, please consider bringing your own shoes as we cannot guarantee heel height or style. 

  • How long is the event route?

The Walk-a-Mile route is approximately half a mile.  To view the event route click here.

  • Can I sponsor the YWCA Walk-a-Mile In Her Shoes Event?

  • Will YWCA Walk-a-Mile In Her Shoes Event be canceled in the event of rain?

No, the event is rain or shine.
